It appears that after finally figuring out that the “Defund the Police” nonsense isn’t quite as popular as they believed it would be, the left seems to be trying out a new strategy: Pretending that it’s really Republicans who are slashing police budgets.

Ever since the murder of George Floyd elicited widespread outrage, the hard left has been using his death to pressure major cities across the country to cut police budgets, resulting in fewer police officers on the streets. Now, amid skyrocketing rates of homicide and other crimes, Democrats are beginning to feel the heat from this predictably stupid decision. Leftist politicians, along with their close friends and allies in the activist media , are desperately trying to do damage control.
Democratic politicians like Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and even President Joe Biden have attempted to deflect on the issue, claiming the rise in crime is due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lack of tighter gun control laws . However, their protestations are falling short. While defunding the police is not the only factor accounting for increased crime, it certainly plays a key role.
